David Brauner is a professor of Contemporary Literature at the University of Reading. His main fields of research include contemporary American literature, twentieth-century Jewish literature and Holocaust fiction.
Brauner is the executive co-editor of the semi-annual journal Philip Roth Studies and has published widely on Jewish literature. He is the author of Contemporary American Fiction (Edinburgh University Press, 2010), Philip Roth (Manchester University Press, 2007), and Post-War Jewish Fiction: Ambivalence, Self-Explanation and Transatlantic Connections (Palgrave Macmillan, 2001). Furthermore, he is the co-editor of The Edinburgh Companion to Modern Jewish Fiction (Edinburgh University Press, 2015).
