Cassenbaum, Nick

Nick Cassenbaum is a theatre playwright and performer. He gained an MA from Goldsmiths in Writing for Performance and is a graduate of the Royal Court Young Writers Programme. He gives writing and performance workshops and has worked with Soho theatre, the Albany, JW3, Jackson’s Lane, The Open Age Centre, Tender Buttons, Big Wheel, and several more. Cassenbaum is the co-artistic director of take stock exchange. In collaboration with renowned venues, including the Royal Court, Soho Theatre, and Battersea Arts Centre, he has written plays, conducted and performed solo productions, and created street performances. His productions have toured internationally. He has also broadcast podcasts for The Guardian‘s programme ‘Sounds Jewish’, which tells stories of Jewish life and is produced in association with JW3. Cassenbaum’s most popular work includes his play Bubble Schmeisis, which was first staged in 2014 and invites the audience into the forgotten world of an East London Bath.
