Amy Shindler is an actress and writer who primarily writes comedy scripts for television. She studied drama at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
Shindler has starred as Brenda Tucker in the long-running radio series The Archers (1950-). With Beth Chalmers, she co-authored ITV’s comedy series Pat and Cabbage (ITV 2013). Shindler has also written episodes for My Family (BBC), Threesome (Comedy Central), Trolled (Sky 1) and Horrible Histories (CBBC). Her play Burning Bridges premiered at the Theatre 503 in 2016. It deals with a woman suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome and was nominated for an Off West End Award for Best New Play.
For three series of the drama Mystic, based in New Zealand and broadcast in 2021 and 2022 on CBBC, Shindler was a co-writer, creator and executive producer with Beth Chalmers. At the Asia Academy Creative Awards in 2022, the show won the award for Best Children’s Programme and then again at the NZTV awards in 2023.
